Portable Network Graphics (PNG) is a raster graphics file format that supports lossless data compression. PNG was created as an improved, non-patented replacement for Graphics Interchange Format (GIF), and is the most widely used lossless image compression format on the Internet.
JPG is for photographic images, and for art with continuously varying color gradients. PNG is for line art, screenshots, text; in short, for most anything, computer-related.
PNG images have a transparent background in general, and you need PNG images for your blog, Logos etc. So how to make a picture transparent, let me walk you through.

Choose an image which you want to make transparent.
You can see different options above the image, click on CHANGE TYPE, and choose the option CONVERT TO PNG, and with a click, your image will change into PNG.
Another tip for making more than one color transparent.
Now first we make the white background transparent. Click on EDIT tab in the upper menu.
A drop-down will appear, choose last option in the drop-down “Transparent Background”, we want to make white background transparent, so just click anywhere on the white.
Lo, your white background becomes transparent, but if you notice above the image, you will see that you can adjust the transparency level also. So just increase the transparency level and click apply. Now you will see a new notification that you can make another color transparent.
